Our Typical Title Charges for Maryland Residential Property Refinance

1102. Abstract or closing fee
1103. Title Examination $695.00
1104. Title Insurance Binder
1105. Document Preparation
1106. Notary Fee
1107. Attorney's Fees
1108. Title Insurance
1109. Lender's Coverage ...approximately $2.78 per thousand of loan
1110. Owner's Coverage ...typically not purchased at Refinance

If you call for quotes of settlement fees, use the above section of the settlement sheet as a guide. When you are quoted fees, try to place them on the chart above.  After all fees are quoted, ask specifically about each of the items, for example:

(1)     Is there a settlement fee? (Line 1101)
(2)     Is there a charge for the abstract or title search? (Line 1102)
(3)     Is there a fee for title examination? (Line 1103)
(4)     Is there a charge for title insurance binder? (Line 1104) etc., etc…
(5)     After you have gone down all of the items, always ask if there are courier fees.
(6)     Your final question should be "Are there any other fees or costs you are charging me?"
